MARY WINNERS, BSBA, Certified Gerontologist, Founder
Mary has over a decade of experience in the business development aspect of healthcare. While physicians and nurses provide medical recommendations, Mary understands the other side of health care-the confusing maze of health care options and unknowns. She has extensive knowledge in acute care hospitalization, Gero-psychiatric issues, Alzheimer's and dementia care, hospice, assisted living and other senior care options. Read more >>
BARBARA WEBER
Barbara continues her life-long dedication to supporting at-risk and vulnerable populations as the Office Manager for About Senior Solutions. Her many years of experience with non-profit organizations has created a perfect blend of her administrative talents and a desire to serve the community. She has worked to support people of all ages, with a passion for seniors and supporting their needs. Her primary focus and research in college was based on creating a means to support positive quality of life. Her knowledge in this area support the enhancement of client goals and well-being. Barbara looks forward to taking your call and will serve your needs as quickly and efficiently as possible.
WHO PERFORMS THE EVALUATIONS: OUR CLINICIANS
One of our licensed clinicians, experienced in geriatric psycho-social issues will perform the evaluation in the home setting of the senior. Once we understand the direction needed for care, you may work with one or more of About Senior Solutions team members.
ANN HODGDON
Masters of Social Work Degree at California State University, Long Beach with a focus on adults and gerontology. Masters of Social Work Degree at California State University, Long Beach with a focus on adults and gerontology. Her primary background is in the field of mental health.

VICTOR ALCALA
Victor Alcala is a social worker and gerontologist. He began as a family caregiver, taking care of his grandfather after a stroke. His work has taken him to private duty homecare, where he spent more than 10 years building, operating, and managing direct care staff as well as staffing coordinators and marketing personnel. He also has experience with assisted living, home health and hospice. Victor is an energetic, creative and empathic leader. He says the favorite part of his work is “sitting down in people’s living rooms and trying to provide some hope for an otherwise chaotic situation.”
Victor also enjoys teaching staff and family members about communicating with someone with Alzheimer’s Disease or some other type of dementia. He is an advocate for people who have difficulty communicating their own needs.
Victor received his BA in Sociology from Cal Poly Pomona and both his Masters in Social Work and Masters of Science in Gerontology from the University of Southern California.
KEVIN RICE
Kevin earned a Masters of Social Work and Masters of Science in Human Development from the University of Illinois in 1992. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California, and in addition to his work as clinical supervisor in a mental health clinic and private practice clinician....
